Maria Acosta reflects on how her life has changed since her husband’s murder.

Since launching this video, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights convened a hearing for Maria’s case on October 29, 2013 in Washington, D.C. She had the opportunity to present evidence that Nicaragua violated her right to human treatment, a fair trial and judicial protection. She attended the hearing with a legal team from the Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights.
